MR LYAN’S TASTE TRIPS

A global adventure in flavour, culture and storytelling

Mr Lyan’s Taste Trips is a first-of-its-kind drinks-focused travel series, exploring the rich cultural landscapes behind some of the world’s most exciting hospitality scenes.

Launched in partnership with ReachTV and Ink, the eight-part series follows Ryan Chetiyawardana as he delves into the stories, flavours, and traditions that shape global food and drink culture. The show is as much about people as it is about products—unearthing the relationships between community, craft, and creativity in locations like Tokyo, Mexico City, New York, and London.

Each episode is built around a simple but powerful premise: discovering a place through its food and drink. From uncovering the secrets of traditional shoyu-making in Japan to exploring Scotland’s whisky legacy, Ryan immerses himself in the history and techniques behind iconic flavours. Along the way, he meets chefs, bartenders, farmers, and artisans—figures who define a location’s culinary identity. And in every destination, he creates a unique drink inspired by the people, ingredients, and experiences he encounters.

Mr Lyan Studio developed the series from the ground up, shaping its format, defining the overarching storylines, and consulting on all creative touchpoints. From curating the locations and talent to designing the visual language, music, and even the tone of storytelling, the studio ensured that the series embodied the curiosity and innovation at the heart of the Lyan world. Each episode’s drinks were crafted in collaboration with local producers, blending regional ingredients with Mr Lyan’s signature approach to flavour and sustainability.

The series extends Mr Lyan’s ethos of storytelling through flavour, reinforcing a mindful, conscious approach to hospitality. It highlights sustainable practices, champions local producers, and encourages a deeper appreciation of the impact behind what we eat and drink.

More than just a travelogue, Mr Lyan’s Taste Trips is a celebration of the connection between culture, community, and creativity. Broadcasting in the US via ReachTV and globally on YouTube, the show brings the world of drinks and hospitality to a new audience—offering a fresh perspective on the power of food and drink to bring people together.
